Central govt orders extension of CBI Director Praveen Sood’s tenure for another year
The Lok Adalat held here in Coimbatore today settled 293 cases under various heads, and collected Rs.10.21 crores as compensation.
The Adalat, headed by the Principal District Judge, R Pongiappan, had taken up 1,880 cases, which included cheque bounce, family disputes, and accidents. Of these, 293 cases were settled and a compensation of Rs.10.21 crore collected, an official release said.
The Adalat held in nearby Tirupur settled 931 cases and collected Rs.7.32 crores.
