Central govt orders extension of CBI Director Praveen Sood’s tenure for another year
At least 200 DMK activists, including 100 women, were arrested here today, when they attempted to picket the NGGO Colony on Mettupalayam Road. They were protesting against the suspension of DMK members from the Assembly for a week.
Led by north rural district women’s wing organiser, Ranganayaki, the workers held placards and raised slogans against the Speaker and squatted the road.
Police took them into custody. Those arrested included rural north district secretary, C.R. Ramachandran and zonal secretary, Arivarasu.
