Teen hangs self

Unable to bear the death of her boyfriend, an 18-year-old girl committed suicide this morning by hanging herself in her house at Arivolinagar on the outskirts.
According to police, Karthika, a first year college student, was in love with Mahamuni, hailing from Dindigul. Her parents had promised to get her married to him, once she completed 18 years.
Mahamuni was electrocuted on August 20 and since then Karthika was reportedly in a depressed mood.
Karthika took the extreme decision when her parents were away. When they returned home they were surprised to see the front door closed.
As Karthika did not open the door for a long time even after repeated knocks, her parents grew suspicious and peeped through the window only to see her hanging.
On information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post mortem. Investigations are on.
