Ration shop digitalisation begins

In order to make distribution more transparent and simple, the district administration has started uploading information of beneficiaries in the point of sale devices, a device introduced to digitalise ration shops.
According to a release, the beneficiaries are requested to give all the necessary details to the respective ration shops so that the data is uploaded in the system. The system would then send details about the items available and distributed via SMS, to the beneficiaries.
“This would make the distribution transparent and open,” the release said and added that the list of items available in the shops could also be checked online.
