Radio Mirchi today screened a special show of Rajnikanth starrer Kabali for visually challenged at The Cinema in Brookefields Mall.

For a majority of the 150 who came to experience the movie, it was their first visit to a movie hall.

Speaking to Covai Post after the event, RJ Saru of Radio Mirchi said the FM channel organised the show in a unique way. “Everyone is talking about Kabali. Along with the regular screening there was a voice narration that explained the scene in a narrative manner. The audience were able to visualise the scene in their minds,” he said.

About 150 visually challenged from in and around Coimbatore and 50 children from a city-based orphanage watched the movie. They were treated with popcorn and aerated drinks. “The idea is to allow them to experience a movie just like others do. For the kids from the orphanage, it was like going on a picnic,” he added.
