Union minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, used to be a “backbencher” in school days and later made a own decision to move to the front, and be the first bencher Rathore, who was here to attend the 12th Isha Gramotsavam, organised by Isha Foundation yesterday, made this revelation to the students of Isha Samskrithi and Isha Home School, where he paid a visit.

“I used to be a back bencher in my school days before making the decision on my own to move from the back bench to the front row,” he told the students.

Appreciating the environment at the school, he said “You must have your own definition of success,” and “not one defined by society,” a Foundation release, quoting him, said today.

In the words of Lt. Governor of Puducherry Dr Kiran Bedi “I asked them, what do you all like the most in this school and in one chorus the children varying from age six to fourteen and even more, said, ‘Everything, everything!’”

The students are “already imbibing composure, peace, harmony, activity, creativity, innovation…Without knowing they’re already nation building,” the release said quoting the former IPS officer.

Bedi also said that she was honored to visit and expressed her hope that such schools multiply. “These children are our real builders of tomorrow. They are our hope of tomorrow being prepared today,” Bedi said.
