Covai Post photojournalist wins first prize at Click Kovai contest

Corporation Mayor P. Rajkumar, on Thursday, gave away the prizes to the winners of the ‘Click Kovai’ Photo Contest, jointly organised by the City Corporation and the Green Globe Trust (GST). Covai Post’s photojournalist PM Mohammed Ashik won the first prize in the competition.

The participants were initially asked to submit photos in the form of a 12×8 print copy, and a soft copy in a CD at the Corporation office. The topics of the contest were water bodies in Coimbatore, the hills of Coimbatore, greenery in Coimbatore, and Coimbatore city life. More than 100 persons participated in the contest.

Covai Post’s PM Mohammed Ashik’s picture of the Koniamman temple cart near the Athar Jamad Masjid on Raja Street, won him the first prize. The second prize was won by J. Jackson, and the third prize by S. Mukil Vendhan.

While a DSLR camera, sponsored by Savithri Photo House, was given to the first prize winner, gift coupons were given to the second and third prize winners, by R.K. Photo Centre. Ten consolation prizes were also given.
