AIADMK workers offered special prayers and performed poojas in various temples in Thanjavur district today praying for the speedy recovery of party general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa who has been admitted to the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai for fever and dehydration.
As the news spread about Jayalalithaa’s hospitalisation, party functionaries and cadres in the district offered started thronging temples to offer their prayers.
On behalf of the party’s Thanjavur south district unit, special poojas were organised at the Sri Anjaneyar temple near the railway station and at the Punnainallur Mariamman temple.
City Corporation Mayor Savithri Gopal, district panchayat chairperson Amudharani Ravichandran, the party’s advocates wing joint secretary, A.G. Thangappan, former district secretaries Durai. Thirugnanam and MGM Subramanian participated in the poojas.
Similar special prayers and poojas were held at the temples in Orathanadu, Thiruvonam, Pattukkottai, Peravoorani unions too.
