A group of tribals today alleged that staff of Isha Foundation here were trying to grab their land near Poluvampatti and issuing death threats, even as another section of tribals blamed a person, claiming to be a journalist, for instigating the other group against the Foundation.

Around 25 members of a group, majority of them being women, came to the Sub-collector’s office here and submitted a memorandum seeking protection from Isha staff, who are trying to grab the land belonging to them, just opposite Forest check-post at Mullankad.

Naming two to three persons in the memorandum, the members, led by P. Muthammal, claimed that the staff were threatening of dire consequences and also cautioned their children to think about their future.

Meanwhile, P Gayathri, daughter of Muthammal, in another memorandum blamed one Shiva, in the pretext of being journalist for instigating her mother and others to speak against the foundation.

Stating that she has studied up to 11th standard with the financial assistance of the Foundation, like many other tribal students, Gayathri said that they had also helped her, when she was suffering from heart disease.

The memorandum said that she was now working in the foundation and her mother, who had left the family 10 years ago and living with her third husband now, was “dancing to the tunes” of Shiva to defame the Isha and sought to take immediate action against them.
