No traffic diversions at Madukkarai yard from today

The diversion of vehicles due to girder replacement of the Railway Bridge at Madukkarai Yard on the city outskirts was withdrawn from today.
The railways was able to replace three out of five girders during this period and the work for replacing the remaining two will be taken up in the third week of this month, a southern railway release said today.
A total of 63 railway bridges have been identified for replacement and repair works in Palakkad Division at a cost of Rs 6.6 crore, during this financial year.
The work of 29 Railway bridges has already been completed at a cost of Rs 2.45 crore, as the division has been taking up the work of strengthening of arch bridges and replacement of steel girders with concrete.
