A 40-year-old tribal woman from Moonkilpallam hamlet in Anaikatti was gifted with an artificial leg by the District Police . Coimbatore District Police, along with Coimbatore District Home Guards, have been carrying a slew of initiatives to reach out to tribals in the villages close to Kerala.
The District Police, under Superintendent of Police RV Ramya Bharathi, gave driving licenses to 40 youth in the village, as part of today’s programme. They also gifted clothes to thousand villagers and sweets to children in 30 villages at Pillur Dam Police limit. In addition, they offered 78 uniforms to school children in Athikadavu near Pillur Dam, and Dhamanpur in the Thudiyalur Police limit.
The District Police have been organising many initiatives including medical camps for tribals and their cattle, which form an essential part of their livelihood.
