In a tragic incident, two girls aged six and five from Negamam drowned in an open water tank in a mill yesterday.
According to the police, the deceased M Sindhuja (6) and P Preethy were step-daughters of P Sindhu and Prabhakaran, who married each other after their respective spouses died recently. The couple was working in a private mill in Kattampatti.
Yesterday, while the couple was working, the two girls, who were playing near the open tank fell inside and drowned. A case has been registered with the Negamam police and they are investigating.
