Body of missing man found after 24 days

A farmer, who was reported missing 24 days ago, was found dead today hanging from a tree in a forest area near Pollachi in the district.
On receiving the information, police rushed to the Azhiyar forest area, recovered the body and sent it for postmortem to the government hospital here, police said.
Further enquiry led to the identification of the deceased as 65-year-old Kanagaraj, a resident of Kottur some 30 kms from here, who had left home on October 24, police said.
Further investigations into the reason for the suicide are on.
