Thanjavur: A boy, studying in Class XII in a government aided higher secondary school in Punalvasal, was admitted to the government hospital in Pattukottai after he was allegedly assaulted by a teacher.

The boy, Jayasimha Danush, son of Kumar and resident of Ammachatram near Kumbakonam and a residential student, reportedly came to dinner an hour late on November 17. Subsequently, three wardens reprimanded him. As he talked back to them, he was allegedly assaulted by three wardens and a teacher.

Danush informed his parents about this incident on November 20. Based on this information, his mother Ilangeswari visited the school the next day and demanded a transfer certificate (TC) for her son. But the school authorities refused to issue it. On November 21, both his parents visited the school and demanded the TC. As the school authorities refused to issue the TC, they took the boy along with them and admitted him to the government hospital in Pattukottai the same day reportedly on the advice of his legal counsel.

Thiruchitrambalam police is enquiring. No case been registered.
