Bus breaks down, blocks road for an hour

Traffic came to a standstill on the Mettupalayam Road after a government bus broke down near Vellakinar Pirivu here on Sunday.
Bus number ‘32N’ broke down was on the way to the shed when it attempted to take a U-turn near Villakinaru Pirivu.
A major accident was averted, as people standing in the area moved away just in time, when the bus stopped here.
But stuck in the middle of the Mettupalayam Road, it caused a traffic block for an hour of vehicles coming from Thudiyalur to towards the city.
Traffic was later cleared by police and the bus was moved with the help of a service vehicle sent by Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation from the Goundampalayam bus station.
