MoU between Tamil University and Eastern University Sri Lanka

Thanjavur: Tamil University, Thanjavur, signed an MoU with Eastern University, Sri Lanka (EUSL), for a student exchange programme for study and research; development of mutual academic programmes; long and short term exchanges of faculty, visiting faculty, students and staff for teaching and research; exchange of documentation and research materials in fields of mutual interest and coordination of joint lectures and training.

The MoU was signed by Dr G Bhaskaran, vice-chancellor of Tamil University, and Dr T Jayasingam , vice-chancellor of EUSL.

“The MoU will enable the two universities to have mutual coordination in the faculties of music, folk arts, sculpture, drama, literature, Siddha medicine, epigraphy and manuscripts. The MoU will facilitate the students of fine arts from EUSL to visit Tamil University to study and train in our traditional folk arts, and vice versa, and also allow for teachers to visit for study and research,” Bhaskaran said.
