Woman stops husband’s second marriage with police help

A 30-year-old woman, successfully managed to stop the second marriage of her husband through police intervention in the rural limits.

The woman, Roselin, hailing from Arani, lodged a complaint with the Rural SP, Ramya Bharathi, that she, a divorcee, entered into matrimony with Lenin some years ago and living in the city. After a few days, Lenin, leaving her at her parents’ house left abroad for job and there was no communication between them for the last few years.

Learning that Lenin, who had returned, is planning to get married to a woman in Kinathukadavu, on the outskirts tomorrow, the woman preferred to lodge a with Ramya Bharathi, police said.

She also filed a complaint with Kinathukadavu police station seeking immediate intervention to stop the marriage.

Accordingly, a team of police personnel met the family of bride and also the priest of a place of worship and convinced about the consequences, following which the marriage was stopped.

Roselin later left for Arani.
