ISTE convention: Faculty members urged to think and act differently

“Faculty members of engineering colleges should think and act differently to achieve quality in education that would lead to successful work atmosphere,” said Dr. R. Murugesan, former president of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi.

Dr. Murugesan was addressing the 19th ISTE annual convention for faculty members of engineering colleges at Dr. N.G.P Institute of Technology, Kalpatti Road.

Other speakers called for strengthening governance, leadership and management in engineering institutions, building research, innovation, entrepreneurship and knowledge in the field of engineering, improving the quality of teaching and nurturing stronger industry-institute collaboration.

Dr. K. Porkumaran, principal, Dr. NGPIT, welcomed he gathering.

Dr. P. Radhakrishnan, director PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Dr. S.N. Sivanandam, Prof & Head of Computer Science Department Karpagam University Coimbatore, Prof. M. Dhanakoti, former principal VMKV Engineering College, Dr. M. Arumugam, adviser, Arunai Engineering College, Dr. P. Anbalagan, director Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology and Dr. V. Palanisamy, former project director World Bank Project for Polytechnic were given Lifetime Achievement Awards 2016.
