In order to expedite the process of redressing citizen grievances, the City Corporation today launched a Mobile Grievances Van, which will visit all five zones every week.

Launching the van, the State Municipal Administration Minister SP Velumani said that people can place their grievances, suggestions and complaints in a box attached to the van, which will reach their wards and zones on a particular day.

Corporation Commissioner K Vijayakarthikeyan said that the van will remain at the office of each zone for one day to receive petitions.

The commissioner said that he would open the grievances box himself in the evening and take remedial measures, with the assistance of other officials. Earlier, in a review meeting, Velumani asked officials to be prepared to meet any eventualities, in view of the heavy rains, which started in the district.
