Youth escapes while being taken to court

A youth arrested in connection with a robbery case here today escaped while being taken to the judicial magistrate court.
M Ilavarasan (18) and A Hariharan (17), both hailing from Baloba Nandavanam area in Keezha Vassal in Thanjavur, were arrested by Thanjavur east police for robbing Rs. 500 from Saminathan of Vadakku Veedhi, Thanjavur.
Escorted by a Special Sub-Inspector of Police and a head constable, the two were being taken to judicial magistrate court for remand when the duo gave a slip to the cops and fled. Police, however, managed to nab Ilavarasan, while Hariharan escaped.
Ilavarasan was produced in the court and was remanded to judicial custody. Police are on the lookout for Hariharan.
