Corporation receives ODF certificate

The certificate declaring the City Municipal Corporation as Open Defecation Free (ODF) city, under Swachh Bharat Mission, was handed over to the officials today, by Quality Council of India (QCI).
A senior QCI official Bhuvanesh Rawat handed over the certificate to the Corporation Commissioner, Dr. Vijayakarthikeyan, at a function held at the Corporation office. Several teams had visited and inspected various wards and interior places in and around the city, before declaring the city as ODF.
Inspection included the access to the toilets to the households, it said.
Teams visited market areas, railway stations, bus stands, slums, schools and places of large public concentration, to find whether there was any incident of open defecation.
