KVK orientation takes off

A three-day orientation programme on mandated activities of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) for scientists working in KVKs in Tamil Nadu began here today.

A total of 25 KVK scientists are participating in the programme being organised jointly by Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Bengaluru, and Directorate of Extension Education, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.

The programme covers participatory rural appraisal in farmers’ fields, and sharing experiences of the scientists on conducting KVK mandated activities.

Dr. Sreenath Dixit, Director, ATARI, motivated the scientists and emphasized the role of KVKs as an innovative institution in technology transfer to the farming community.
