“State government bowing to threats of the Centre”

Despite having majority, AIADMK (Amma) government is afraid of the Centre and depriving the rights of Tamil Nadu, CPI State secretary, R Mutharasan alleged today.

The Centre, for that matter BJP, was exploiting the weakness of the Government and controlling both factions of AIADMK, thus depriving the rights of Tamil Nadu, like constitution of Cauvery Management Board,NEET and attempt to impose Hindi, Mutharasan told reporters here.

It was anti-democratic that Union minister, Venkaiah Naidu reviewing the schemes sitting in State Secretariat and State government had allowed it for fear of the Centre’s threats, he said.

He also blamed the Centre for not heeding to the appeals by the farmers and also its failure to waive the loans taken by them from Nationalised banks.

AIADMK was afraid of conducting civic body elections fearing the defeatat the hands of voter, he said.

Mutharasan also wanted immediate convening of the Assembly session to discuss various burning issues confronting the State, like water shortage and closure of liquor outlets.

On Rajinikanth, he said that the actor was not not clear in his plans to enter politics.
