Farmer killed in elephant attack

A 46-year-old farmer, who was attacked by an elephant last evening at Mettupalayam, succumbed to injuries today.

Muthusamy was attacked by a wild elephant yesterday, while working in the field. He was rushed to the Government Hospital with serious injuries all over the body.

In spite of doctors’ best efforts, he passed away this morning, police said.
