The two-day third national conference of ‘CUPID 2017’ (Covai Update Pprogramme in Diabetes) began here is being today.

Organised by Kovai Diabetes Specialty Center (KDSC) and Hospital, a large number of doctors from all over the country would attend the conference.

“The conference will discuss latest findings based out of researches and latest medicines to cure diabetes,” Dr. Balamurugan, Chief Diabetologist, KDSC, said.

Dr. K. Kulanthaisamy, Director of Public Health and Dr.B. Asokan, Dean of Coimbatore Medical College inaugurated the conference.

“Diabetes is considered the most dangerous health issue. Almost every second person is a diabetic now due. This is mainly due to the lifestyle they lead,” Dr. Asokan said.

In his address, Dr. Issac Moses said thanks to Insulin, there has not been much side effects in diabetic patients in the last ten years.
