The upcoming week will display art works of transgender people. Sahodari Foundation, a group created by artist and activist Kalki Subramaniam, is organising an art fest project which will include the works of 10,000 transgenders.

The festival TRANS/HEARTS will be held from June 16 to 18 at Art Houz Ggallery on Avinashi Road. The organisers said it was aimed at inspiring them to develop their creativity in a free and liberal atmosphere.

Art workshops were already conducted by the foundation from February across South India, starting from Coimbatore. The Kochi-Muziris Biennale also became the part of the art workshop. A professional artist from the Varakootam in Pandikkad in Kerala had also contributed to the workshop.

Organisers said the expo hopes to identify talent, encourage them to practice, invest in them and change their lives. Kalki Subramaniam along with artist Hari Sambandam is to be part of the project.

There will be a crowdfunding site for sale of paintings and the earnings would go to the artist.
