Police arrested 29 protesters who tried to block the road near Kuniyamuthur demanding of Hindu Munnani state president Kadeswara C Subramaniami.

The protesters, led by district leader M.Thyagu, tried to block the Palakkad-Coimbatore road yesterday. Thyagu said Subramaniami had got information that there was some problem at Kambam temple and went there to resolve it. But police blocked his entry and finally arrested him.

While the protesters were released by evening, Subramaniami too was released around that time, he added.
