Students seek admission based on NEET score

Even as political parties are pressing to exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET, a group of students in the city today sought medical admission based on NEET score. They threatened to move court if their demands are not met.

Students who have cleared the NEET appealed to the Government to not to insist or press for exemption from NEET, since their performance in the NEET was good and expressed hope to get seats and admissions to medical colleges on the basis of the score.

“The move to get exemption by the Government, reportedly by passing an ordinance in the State Assembly, would come as a blow to many students, who will be upset as they expected to get seats based on NEET score for which they have studied nearly for one year,” they said.

Stating that passing the NEET was not very tough, as made out by political parties, Swetha, Niveda and Surya said that it was easy to clear NEET, with systematic preparation. “If the government fails to announce the NEET-based merit list, we will tap the doors of the court to get justice,” the students said.
