Chennai: Madras High Court today upheld the election of Opposition DMK working president M K Stalin’s from Kolathur constituency in 2011.
Justice Venugopal dismissed the petition filed by AIADMK’s Saidai Duraisamy, who was the nearest rival candidate in the election, losing out to Stalin by over 2,500 votes.
In his petition, Duraisamy alleged that Stalin, who was the then Deputy Chief Minister, had misused his office by involving officials to secure his victory.
