1.14 acres of reserve sites retrieved

Coimbatore Corporation attached 1.14 acres of encroached reserve sites today, taking its retrieval to about 26 acres worth Rs 290 crore from private persons till March end.

The corporation officials today retrieved Rs.9.75 crore worth land from various places in Vadavali in Ward No.16 in north zone.

They retrieved 1.6 acres of reserve sites worth Rs.10.7 crore in five zones on May 13.

The sites were reserved for park, community hall and other purposes, which had been encroached to extend housing colony and other private facilities, according to an official statement.

The corporation retrieved 5.37 acres worth Rs 64.7 crore in November, 3.77 acres worth Rs 55.45 crore in December last, 2.72 acres worth Rs.26.2 crore in January, 7.66 acres valued at Rs 71.95 crore in February and 6 acres worth Rs 50.58 crore in March.
