1.87 acre of encroached reserve sites retrieved

Corporation officials today retrieved 1.87 acres of encroached reserved sites in the three zones of the Corporation limits.
The drive against such encroachment has been going on since November last and about 30 acres of lands worth over Rs.350 crore has been reclaimed by the Corporation till May last.
While the officials retrieved 67 cents of land from private parties in Singanallur village, 40 cents meant for public park were retrieved from Vadavalli village in West zone, official sources said.
Similarly, the officials retrieved 80 cents in Saravanampatti limits, they said.
