10 held for attempting to burn Modi’s effigy

Nearly 10 activists of the Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhagam (TPDK) were arrested here today when they attempted to burn the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in protest against the Centre’s ‘U turn’ in constituting the Cauvery Management Board.

The activists came with an effigy and attempted to burn it. However, police managed to snatch it off them and doused the fire.
All those who were involved in the attempt were arrested.
