The district administration has planned to conduct a mass pledge in Coimbatore, involving more than eight lakh voters, to emphasise on the importance of 100 per cent polling for the upcoming elections.

The mass pledge will be conducted in various centres in the district on May 10.

Addressing reporters in a review meeting ahead of the elections, on Friday, the District Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik requested the media to cooperate with the flying squads and allow their vehicles to be checked. The request follows allegations that money was being distributed in the state using vehicles with press stickers.
