Kottayam: Fifteen train passengers who blocked a train here a few months ago were penalised by the railways.

The RPF had filed chargesheet against them on the basis of photo taken during the incident in February.

Summons were sent to the travellers to appear before the magistrate who levied a fine of Rs 2,000 on each of them.

The passengers had blocked the train to protest against constant delay in the running of Venad Express from Thiruvananthapuram to Shoranur which is depended on by thousands of office-goers.
