Nearly 150 SDPI activists were arrested today, while attempting to barge into the Coimbatore railway station to stage a rail roko, to protest against the skyrocketing prices of pulses and also the burning of two dalit children to death in Haryana.

The activists, raising slogans against the price increase, tried to enter the railway station for picketing a train, this evening, police said.

However, there were some tense moments, as police tried to prevent them from moving ahead.  As the activists attempted to force their way into the station, police arrested them.
