1,600 donors sign up for donating blood

At a recent blood donation drive organized by Sri Annai Karangal Association, about 1,600 people from all walks of life have registered their names with their blood group, and have agreed to donate blood as and when needed.
Sri Annai Karangal Association is a Coimbatore-based NGO founded by L. Gopinath. One of the activities of the NGO is to create awareness among the public about blood donation. It also organizes blood donation camps on a regular basis. “Blood donation is an act of giving life to someone who needs it the most. At this blood donation drive, people from all walks of life came ahead and registered to donate blood when the need arises. Such drives will surely help in matching the demand with supply of blood,” Gopinath says.
The Sri Annai Karangal Association has received confirmation from 1,600 donors (from all blood groups) who have agreed to donate blood. The NGO constantly receives requests for several units of blood. The blood donation drive will surely help this NGO expand its database of blood donors.
