18-year old jumps to death

An 18-year old engineering student, today, jumped to death from the second floor of her hostel in a private college in the city.
Sinthia, a resident of Mettur in Salem district, was in her second year, and staying in the college hostel. According to police, she came out of her room and jumped down, and died instantly.
Some hostel mates, who witnessed the incident, informed the management, who in turn called the police. They recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Investigations are on to ascertain the reason for the girl’s suicide.
