192 nominations received till now in Covai

A total of 192 nominations were received for 3,029 posts in the local bodies across the district till today, the second day.
A total of 117 candidates filed their nomination for 100 wards in the City Corporation council, official sources said. However, no one filed nomination for 90 municipal councillors in three municipalities.
Elections are being held for 17 district panchayat ward members, 155 panchayat union ward members, 228 village panchayat presidents 2,034 village panchayat ward members, 90 municipal councillors, 585 town panchayat ward members and 100 city corporation councillors.
