2 students drown in Coonoor dam waters

Ooty : Two students were drowned in Ralia Dam in nearby Coonoor, some 20 kms from here, today.
Five students from a nearby area had gone for fishing in the dam reservoir, which supplies drinking water to Coonoor this morning.Two of them ventured into the waters for bathing, police said.
As they–Raghuvaran (14) and Clement Alex (17)– went farther, they were caught in the slush. They screamed for help but the other three could not rescue them. Villagers nearby also could not help.
On information Fire and Rescue personnel rushed to the area and but they too could not bring the students out alive.
The two bodies were retrieved, police said.
