204 beneficiaries receive welfare fund

As many as 204 beneficiaries received welfare funds worth Rs. 6.33 lakh at Avalsinnampalayam near Pollachi here on Wednesday.

While 61 beneficiaries received free patta worth Rs. 5.3 lakh under the Adi Dravidar Welfare Scheme, 135 beneficiaries received the order for old age pensions. Solatium was also distributed to farmers.

Distributing the funds, V. Jayaraman, the Deputy Speaker of Tamil Nadu Assembly said that the State Government was distributing various funds for the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu. “The Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had allotted Rs. 4500 crore under the Social Security Scheme in which 30 lakh beneficiaries have benefited,” he added.

Around 38 petitions were received on the day, of which two were cleared immediately. As many as 27 petitions were being taken action on, while seven were cancelled.

Pollachi Sub-Collector Rashmi Siddharth Zagade and Deputy Commissioner Venkateshan also participated in the event.
