The Coimbatore city zoo now has 21 new crocodile babies that were recently hatched!

The zoo, located in the heart of the city, is among a very few entertainment options for the locals. The zoo currently has nine crocodiles, including five females. A few months ago, two female crocodiles laid eggs. The workers buried the eggs in one foot-deep pits some 70 days ago.

All the eggs were taken out a week ago and a few hours later, the baby crocodiles were born. Considering the safety of the babies, fearing that the bigger crocodiles may consume them, all the hatchlings were kept in a separate place, the zoo authorities said.

The officials will have to find new homes for the young ones when they start to grow up, due to lack of space at the zoo.
