25-day entrepreneurship training programme for women begins

A 25-day entrepreneurship training programme for women began at the PSG College of Arts and Science (PSGCAS) here today.

Sponsored by National Science and Technology and organised by FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) and PSGCAS), began here today at PSGCAS, the progamme is being implemented by EDI, Ahmedabad.

Participants would be given training in business idea generation, schemes of financial assistance, project selection and feasibility, entrepreneurial and leadership skills, project report preparation, market survey, business management aspects and formalities related to taxation during the training period.

Talking to The Covai Post, Rohini Sharma, Faculty, Entrepreneurship Development Cell of PSGCAS, said women from various backgrounds have enrolled for the training programme. “Some of them are already running business. Many others have come up with various ideas such as running mobile eateries or a travel firm. At the end of the programme, they will prepare a project report, which can be submitted to a bank for funding,” she said.

“We still have some spots open,” Rohini added.

Candidates (preferably in the age group of 18-45 years) possessing B.Sc, B.Tech or BE degrees or a technical diploma from any Government recognised institution are eligible to apply for the training.
