3 arrested for taking nude photo and raping a married girl

Police had arrested three persons in Vadakkipalayam today on charges of taking a nude photo of an 18-year-old girl, raping her, and threatening her to post the photographs on social media websites.
The trouble began when one Manikandan took photographs with his cellphone of the married girl when she was taking bath in a doorless makeshift bathroom in the village a few days ago. She was then waylaid by Manikandan who asked her to cooperate sexually with him and to be ready in the night.
Manikandan reached her house around midnight on February 15, but the girl, a native of Kerala, refused. But Manikandan bodily lifted her and took her to a secluded place and sexually assaulted her, along with his two friends who were already waiting there.
The victim’s husband lodged a complaint, based on which Manikandan, along with his accomplices, Karuppasamy and Tirumurthy, were arrested and remanded to custody.
