Coimbatore : With 393 new covid-19 positive cases, the total count in the district reached 37,511 and six deaths took the toll to 497 today.

Of the total, 32,175 patients were discharged and 4,839 are under treatment at various hospitals, a State Medical bulletein said.

The dead include five male and a female aged 68 years.

Erode reported 146 new cases, taking the tally to 8,426 of which 7,231 were discharged and 1,093 under treatment. One death took the total to 102.

In Salem 304 fresh cases took the total to 23,650 of which 20,986 were discharged and 2,289 are undergoing treatment. With two deaths the tally rose to 375.

With 185 cases reported, Tirupur tally gone up to 10,219 of which 8,762 were discharged and 1,301 under treatment. One death took the toll to 156, it said.
