3L devotees converge at Isha Shivarathri celebrations

Coimbatore :Nearly three lakh devotees converged in front of 112-foot tall Adiyogi in Isha Yoga Centre, on the outskirts, to celebrate Mahashivaratri.
The celebrations, which began at 6 pm yesterday, ended at 6 am today in the presence of Isha founder Sadhguru.Discourses and meditations were interspersed with musical performances by renowned singer Sonu Nigam, fusion band Sean Roldan andFriends, scintillating vocalist Mohit Chauhan, and popular musician Daler Mehndi which enthralled the crowd.
Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Deputy Chief Minister O Paneerselvam,Ministers SP Velumani, Thangamani and Udaykumar and Puducherry Chief MinisterV Narayanasamy were among those VIPs, present at the function,As part of the celebrations, a pancha bhuta aradhana – a unique opportunity tocleanse the five elements of the body which leads to health and well-being, wasconducted, followed by an exuberant maha arati.
In his discourse, Sadhuguru mentioned that adiyogi represented a possibility to shift humanity from religion to responsibility, from looking outward to turning inward.At the stroke of midnight, Sadhguru initiated the huge gathering into meditation which was the most looked forward to event of the night.
