5 killed, one hurt as vehicle falls of flyover after collision with bus

Five persons were killed on the spot today and one person was injured seriously, when their SUV fell off a flyover after hitting a Government bus on the highway at Thekkalur in nearby Tirupur district.
The inmates, all men and yet to be identified, were coming to the city from Pallipalayam in Namakkal when the mishap occurred, some 35 km from here.
The vehicle on the six-lane highway suddenly collided head-on with the bus and under the impact fell 50 feet down from the flyover. Vehicular traffic was disrupted for some time, police said.
The driver, who sustained serious injuries, has been admitted to the government hospital here, they said.
