900 lawyers arrested

Nearly 900 lawyers were arrested here and in Tirupur while attempting to stage a rail roko in protest against the recent amendments to the Advocates Act.
Around 500 advocates assembled near the District Court complex here and took out a procession to the city railway station, where they squatted on the tracks in front of the Dhanbad Express. They demanded immediate withdrawal of the amendments to the Act.
Police arrested all of them.
Similarly around 400 lawyers attempted to stage a rail roko in Tirupur railway station and courted arrest.
