As many as 9,723 subordinate civil servants, who have been recruited and are serving in various government departments, will be imparted basic training at the Civil Service Training Institute in Bhavanisagar and its women’s wing in Coimbatore in the current phase,” said District Collector TN Hariharan.

Inaugurating the training for civil servants at the women’s wing of the institute here, he said trainees have been grouped in eight batches of 243 trainees each; the training period—imparting skills in procedure, service procedure, accounts, public relations and rural development—is 37 days, and will end in January.

“So far, 1,650 women civil servants have been imparted training through the Civil Service Basic Training Institute in Coimbatore for the 2014-2016 period,” the Collector said.
