Udhagamandalam: Well known for its adoption of novel ways to mark its weekly mass the historic Saint Mary’s Church in Ooty organized a special holy mass for the sick,disabled and the aged on Sunday.

The mass and the Eucharistic procession which accompanied it formed part of the 179th annual feast of the church.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Benjamin from the Pondicherry- Cuddalore arch diocese presided over the activities associated with the holy mass.He was assisted by parish priest Rev. Fr.Vincent and assistant parish priests Fr. Edwin Charles and Fr. Peter Shalon.

Speaking to the Covai Post Church spokesperson Satish Aboodas said that 21 men and women who were ailing,aged or differently abled were brought to the church by youth wing volunteers of the parish for the special blessing.
