A horse with injuries was rescued near Nanjundapuram, in Coimbatore, on Wednesday, by the members of the Alexander Equestrian Club. The horse with bleeding injuries on the shoulder was roaming on the streets between Nanjundapuram and Podanur, abandoned by its owner.

According to Sakti Balaji, founder of the club, the members gave first aid to the horse, and additional treatment will be provided by veterinary doctors soon.

“Two of its legs are swollen, and the owner has not treated the horse well,” he added.

Claiming that the club had rescued more than 6 horses, Balaji added that usually owners of the horses came back and took the animals after some time.

“But we are not going to let the owner of the horse get away this time. We are planning to take legal actions against him for ill-treating the animal,” said Balaji.

The club is currently managing 13 horses, and is located near Nava India.
